We have been seeing a big increase in the amount of Mini car owners coming to our car garage over the past few months. We have been carrying out turbo repairs, engine rebuilds, brake replacements and a whole range of mini related vehicle service work.

Here are two Mini vehicle jobs we are currently working on from the workshop. The first we look at is a turbo replacement from within the Mini vehicle pictured below.

The owner came to us as the turbo had completely ceased. For those who are not sure, the turbo in a Mini vehicle enables the car to gain more power output and acceleration from the engine. A turbo engine needs to combine fuel and air to function, the turbo uses the exhaust gasses to force air into the engine cylinders which then mixes with the fuel creating power and acceleration.

There can be many reasons why the turbo could fail in a Mini car. But the reasons it failed in the vehicle pictured above was down to poor maintenance. The vehicle owner had not replaced the oil in the engine regularly and the oil that was already in the engine was of poor quality, a recipe for turbo’s in Mini cars failing.

The best oil that you can use in a Mini engine is a 5w30 fully synthetic oil, this quality oil will ensure that everything is properly greased especially the turbo. Quality oil will lead to less problems and less costly repairs for Mini cars.

The second Mini vehicle we have recently serviced from our car garage is pictured below. Here we have completely rebuilt the engine from scratch after the previous engine had blown up and was beyond a simple repair.

An advantage for us is we work closely with Major Motors a major stockist, exporter and importer of low mileage engines. Because they stock big meant we could pull the new low mileage engine that we needed off the shelves quickly enabling us to get on with the vehicle servicing, the engine was delivered within two working days which was great for us as we didn’t have to wait weeks on end to continue the car service.

Both Mini vehicles are back out on the road and working perfectly and another two happy customers for us.
