Gearbox enquiries are coming in thick and fast. Over the past three days we have had all kinds of gearbox related problems being reported by motorists at our garage pictured below. These include, gears not being selected properly, wear and tear and gears simply not being selected when changing gear especially reverse gear.

What we are going to focus on now however are weather conditions that cause gearbox problems. With the autumn months and the winter months approaching did you know colder weather conditions can cause gearbox wear and tear, but how?
In the autumn and winter gearboxes can be exposed to cold if not freezing temperatures. The colder it is means it takes longer for the engine and gearbox components to warm up, this can lead to harsher gear changes leading to wear and tear on the gears in the gearbox.
The photos below show examples of gears that have become warn because gears are not being properly selected inside the gearbox.

But don’t worry, if you are having problems with the gearbox in your vehicle then we can help. We have over 10 years’ experience in gearbox reconditioning. We also have access to a vast range of gearbox stock working with our sister company Major Motors. The photos below show the huge range of stock we have access to from gearboxes and gearbox components.

The importance of having access to big amounts of gearbox stock means we can service gearbox related faults quickly. Quicker servicing only allows us to get our customers back on the road quickly. Other garages would have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before stock comes in to them leaving motorists stranded with little options.
Because we work with companies like Major Motors who invest heavily in gearbox stock means we can buy gearboxes at bottom prices. Because we have buying advantage we pass savings back on to our customers meaning we can quote competitively and win work.
If you are having any problems with your vehicles gearbox get in touch with us we have over 10 years experience reconditioning gearboxes and mechanics with over 30 years experience working in the vehicle servicing trade.
