We are seeing a lot of vehicles in the garage having alternator problems. Here is a Lexus vehicle that was in the garage because the alternator had become faulty.

What is an alternator?
An alternator is a component of the vehicles electrical system. An alternators job is to convert energy from the engine into electrical energy. That electrical energy is then used to charge and power all of the electrical systems in your vehicle. If there is a problem with the alternator you could end up with a flat battery and will be completely unable to start your vehicle. This is why the alternator is such an important part of the your vehicle.
What are the signs you have an alternator problem?
Signs that you are experiencing an alternator problem can come in many forms. Lets take a look at a few telltale signs. First up your vehicle may not start. This is because the alternator has not been successful in charging the battery. The battery needs to be charged in order to start the engine. If there is no power converted to charge the battery then the car will not start.
Next up in your vehicle your electrical systems could be cutting out or looking like they are about to. Lights can be quite dimmed and faded meaning they are not getting the power that they need likely because the alternator is struggling to produce electrical power.
Lastly a more simple sign is the battery warning light will light up on your dashboard. Meaning that there is some sort of problem that could be linked to the alternator.
