We have seen a huge influx of Peugeot vehicles coming into the garage for servicing. We have seen that the Peugeot models 308, 208 and 2008 have needed work in their engines, mainly to do with the timing belt.

We have spoken with our mechanics, and we can see that there is a build up of engine oil that is causing corrosion on the timing belt. This means that sooner or later the timing belt is going to snap or fail in some way or compromise the performance of your vehicle’s performance.

Carrying out further research, we can see that Peugeot in fact are recalling models 308, 208 and 2008, because of a timing belt issue. We have just discovered; Peugeot have recalled 2212 vehicles to get their timing belts replaced through the main dealers. This explains why we are seeing so many Peugeot vehicles coming to our independent garage needing work.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as noises coming from under the bonnet, engines misfiring and general poor driving quality, the likelihood is you could well be experiencing a problem with the timing belt on your Peugeot vehicle.
