We have recently been writing about DSG gearboxes and how we are experts in servicing them. Well, we are going to continue with this theme, however, get a little more specific about what faults we can service.
Now we are going to look at the following faults on the Volkswagen Golf. The Volkswagen Golf has a DSG 7 control unit. If you are experiencing a loss of drive and your vehicle was built between 2003 and 2016 then you could be experiencing a problem on your DSG control unit.
More common DSG 7 control unit faults on Volkswagen golfs are:
* Failure to select gears.
* The gear symbol on your dashboard will continue to light up.
* You will feel judders and shudders coming from underneath the car.
Common fault codes that can show up when you have a DSG gearbox fault are:
* 16946/P0562/001378 - System Voltage Low
* 005636/P1604 - Internal Control Module
* P189C/006300 - Function Restriction Due To Insufficient Pressure Build-up.
If you are experiencing any of the above fault codes and vehicle symptoms that is when you should get in touch with us. We can rebuild the unit for you, or replace the DSG unit.
Our mechanics have years of experience dealing with DSG control units and DSG gearbox faults, in fact over 75 years of collective experience. We are confident we can rectify the problem and get you back out on the road in no time at all.
