The vehicle failed because the driveshaft was worn beyond its capacity to function properly, or to be more specific if it fails out on the road the vehicle could cause an accident, putting motorists including the driver in danger of life-threatening injury or even fatality.
Let’s look a little deeper into drive shaft faults. Firstly, what is a driveshaft? A driveshaft is responsible for transferring power or torque to make the vehicle drive forward, if there is a problem with the driveshaft then your vehicle can be hard to control and dangerous when out on the road.
If you have a driveshaft fault you may be experiencing heavy vibrations shaking the vehicle, when this happens you should get the vehicle checked out. In this case the BMW vehicle that we put through the MOT test lane had no symptoms, however our MOT technology was able to spot the driveshaft problem and avoided future trouble out on the road.
