Back in June earlier this year we wrote about how The Department of Transport could be making MOT tests more challenging for motorists to pass.
All the mainstream news outlets were talking and debating about it from Bristol Live, GB News, even the Mirror were writing about it.
But what were they talking about? Well, this was the debate. Should ADAS systems be checked during a vehicles MOT. We counted over 35 driver assisted systems on one vehicle from our independent garage when recalibrating ADAS systems on a vehicle recently.
Currently there are no plans to introduce ADAS checking during a vehicles MOT. However, The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety has recommended to the government that ADAS checks should be mandatory in MOT testing.
ADAS systems are becoming so common on vehicles is it prudent to check them for safety during the MOT stage. We are not going to say yes or no, but if the day comes and we do need to check them at the vehicles annual MOT we are prepared and ready to do just that.
Whatever will happen here at A1 Diagnostics we have three ADAS bays where we can check ADAS systems, making sure they are safe and fully calibrated so that they are working correctly when driving out on the road assisting the driver. Here are photos of our award winning ADAS bays kitted out with the best tech.
