According to motortrader.com we have just learned that the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have published new guidelines on how to report a fraudulent MOT tester and MOT garage.
Why are the DVSA doing this?
During the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, it is likely that MOT garages are plugging the economic short fall they experienced during the first lockdown of 2020. We suspect that MOT testers were being less favourable to motorists when assessing vehicles, failing vehicles on a range of items like brakes, lights, and other components of a vehicle.
The likelihood is MOT testers failed vehicles during their MOT when they should have passed. This led to the DVSA investigating potential fraud. Over the past 12 months the DVSA investigated 2057 MOT test centres, which led to 491 MOT testers being banned from MOT testing, this helps protect motorists.
Be careful when considering which garage to use to test MOT your vehicle. Check their Google reviews and Facebook reviews and see how many 5-star ratings they have; how long have they been trading for? Do they have any awards for their car maintenance services?
Why use A1 Diagnostics?
We will give you one reason why you should consider using A1 Diagnostics to carry out your MOT work, and it is a pretty good reason.
Only recently were we awarded two prestigious awards. The first award was from SME News being awarded as the “Best Automotive garage in Wales”, the second was awarded by Corporate LiveWire receiving the award for “Best in Auto Repair Services in the UK”, yes you heard that right in the entire UK.
Here are the awards that are displayed in our showroom.
