It won’t be long before vehicles start whizzing around the roads of Cardiff and the city centre. During lockdown it has been amazing to see the work Cardiff council have been doing on the roads to accommodate more cyclists, especially outside places like Cardiff Castle.

With restrictions being lifted and with people using their vehicles more and more to get back into work, it may well be time to consider getting your vehicle in for safety check. Why do we say this? Vehicles have been used by owners less and less, and have been left on the driveway for long periods of time through the Covid19 pandemic.

Just because the vehicle hasn’t been used does not mean that things have not gone wrong with the vehicle while not being used. Things like rust could have set in and other anomalies that could make the vehicle unsafe.

If your vehicle has not been out on the road here a few things you need to get checked.

• The Windscreen wipers making sure they are working as they should.
• The lights are working on the vehicle from indicators, the warning light, headlights, rear and brake lights.
• Check the engine oil levels.
• Check the tyre pressures, tyres can deflate over time if the vehicle has not been used for a long time.
