The DVSA have published data on vehicles that have not been re-tested after the MOT extension date. Approximately 19.5% of vehicles who receive an extension to get their MOT during the lockdown last March have still not been MOT tested.

This is quite alarming as that means 1.86 million vehicles are still out on the road that have not had an MOT, according to KwikFit, this means there are vehicles that could be out on the road that are unsafe, making it a dangerous place to be driving out on the road.

It might be a simple mistake and you have simply overlooked to re-new your MOT, after all it has been a confusing time during the pandemic with there being extensions and restrictions being put in place on vehicles and limiting your ability to go outside.

If you are one of those people who has yet to have their MOT re-newed, then we urge you to check, because it will ensure the safety of your vehicle when out on the road, and not just your vehicles safety, but your safety and other motorists around you.
