A while back we attended an event to support Zalekha Price-Davies and the charity that she supports called Headway. Zalehka (pictured below) sustained a brain injury in Dublin several years back falling down a flight of stairs causing a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain, this accident changed her life in an instant.
Zalehka has endured some tough times going through physiotherapy, occupational health, speech and language coaching, dietician, neuropsychiatry and lots of consultant appointments. Through rehabilitation Zalehka has been supported by the charity Headway who have been instrumental in helping Zalehka rebuild her life.
Headway introduced Zalehka to two support groups where others who have also had brain injuries could come together to support one another.
How we raised money for Zalehka
For every car we serviced we donated a portion of the servicing price to Headway in support of Zalehka and the incredible work that Headway do. We raised £425.89 for Headway, here is Zalehka collecting the donation from our garage workshop.
Since opening our doors over 15 years ago we have always supported many causes both nationally and locally. We have supported UNICEF, the automotive charity BEN, Children In Need, Alzheimer’s Society and Help for Heroes. Hearing about Zalehka and the courage she has mustered to get fighting fit again has been an inspiration and we are only to glad to add Headway to our fundraising efforts.
Well done for fighting back Zal, you have come a long way and are an inspiration.
