We recently had a Vauxhall Crossland X vehicle in the garage pictured below.

There were two lights that had lit up on the vehicle’s dashboard. The first was its Ad blue light, the second was the engine management light.
What faults could be present if the Ad-Blue light comes on?
An Ad-Blue light coming on can suggest that your vehicles ad-blue levels are low. This means you will need to top up the Ad-Blue on your vehicle. Other common problems why an Ad-blue light may light up is there is a blockage within the system, when there is a blockage you maybe able to see a build up of white crystals on the engine. Lastly it could be that a sensor has become faulty within the Ad-Blue system giving faulty readings.
What faults could be present if the engine management light comes on?
If the engine management light comes on the vehicles dashboard it indicates an engine fault. Sometimes these kinds of faults can be more or less serious. Either way get your vehicle booked in for an engine diagnostic and gently bring your vehicle into the garage. Common engine faults could be:
– Engine misfires indicating a cylinder maybe faulty and is failing to ignite air and fuel correctly, a more serious fault.
– Faulty sensors reporting incorrect data to the ECU a less serious fault.
– The timing chain or belt has become loose causing engine damage a more serious fault.
There could be literally hundreds of reasons the EML light can illuminate. But don’t panic sometimes they can be simple faults to fix. That’s where we come in at A1 Diagnostics.
