We are seeing lots of Land Rover vehicles making their way to the garage because the engine is overheating. When this happens, the engine will tell you. Here are a few tell tale signs you have an overheating Land Rover engine.
– The temperature gauge on your dashboard will constantly read high temperature.
– You will see steam or smoke coming from under the bonnet of the Land Rover vehicle.
– You will smell carbon burning coming from the engine area.
– The bonnet will be very hot to the point you can not rest your hand upon it.
– You will hear large bangs and noises coming from the engine area.
These are all signs that you have an engine that is overheating. Let’s take a look at a recent Land Rover vehicle that was in our garage because the engine was overheating, here is the vehicle pictured in one of our engine bays.

We diagnosed the fault with this engine and could immediately see there was a water leak. The coolant pipe that feeds water into the engine had become split therefore faulty. If you do not have a regular supply of water in the engine cooling system, then the engine will overheat.
We are experts at diagnosing faults on vehicle engines of all brand types, especially Land Rover and Range Rover engines. Our mechanics have a collective 75 years engine servicing experience under their belt. So whatever the problem you are experiencing they will be able to find the fault and fix it quickly.
