An oxygen sensor also known as a lambda sensor is fitted on vehicles to check how much oxygen has gone unburned in the exhaust gases. The data is then transmitted from the sensor to the electrical control unit that regulates the air-fuel ratio which ensures the engine is working as efficiently as possible.

There can be a number of signs to look out for when there is an oxygen sensor fault, here are a few indicators:

– The engine management light is on. Displaying error code P0130 and P0155.
– You will be burning more fuel in a short period of time as the oxygen sensor will be transmitting false data to the ECU.
– You will be experiencing lack of power coming from the engine.
– A failed emission test as the oxygen sensor is not working correctly.
– Abnormal smells coming from the exhaust.
