Next up we are going to look at the work being carried out from our engine bays. On the ramp we have a BMW vehicle. This vehicle came into the garage billowing out white smoke from the exhaust.

Not only was it blowing out large amounts of white smoke the vehicle was experiencing loss of power. What had happened was the engine did not have enough oil in the engine. If the engine does not have enough oil in the engine, it can cause the engine to overheat, when an engine overheats it can cause problems with engine components such as the turbo.

Other signs you are experiencing a problem with your vehicle’s turbo is you will hear loud whistling noises coming from the exhaust. This is not the only sign; your exhaust could be reading high gas temperatures leading to the engine management light turning on or a dash light of some sort being illuminated.

On this occasion the engine had become badly damaged. We therefore replaced the engine with a low mileage quality reconditioned engine. Here is the engine ready to be installed in the BMW vehicle.
