Join us on Friday the 1st of November and Saturday the 2nd of November to celebrate Cardiff Foodbank event called “Plankos”
In partnership with Giovanni’s Restaurant, A1 Diagnostics will be holding an event to help raise awareness of the vital work that Cardiff Foodbank do in our great city.
Cardiff Foodbank transport food donations all over the city from their warehouse based in Splott. Here is an infographic showing statistics of food stock and parcels they have shifted from July to September 2024 from their warehouse.
We recently visited Cardiff Foodbank where Sam pictured below showed us around.
Here are a few photos of their warehouse where all the stock is packed and shipped all over the city.
A1 Diagnostics and Giovanni’s Restaurant have regularly supported Cardiff Foodbank and are appealing to other enterprises to help them too. With the cost-of-living crisis and fuel bills not easing, Cardiff Foodbank services are more vital than ever in serving the most vulnerable people in Cardiff including the homeless.
What do A1 Diagnostics do for Cardiff Food Bank?
Here at A1 Diagnostics we service all of the fleet vehicles that Cardiff Foodbank use to ferry food parcels all over the city. Here are photos of one of their wagons in for a service and MOT.
We have passed on big advantages to Cardiff Foodbank using our award-winning independent garage. We have not charged any labour costs for the servicing of Cardiff Foodbank vehicles. This saving helps Cardiff Foodbank put more finances into their operation in helping the most vulnerable people in Cardiff.
How do Giovanni’s Restaurant help the most vulnerable people in Cardiff?
Giovanni’s Restaurant have cooked for homeless people for many years. They have provided people with first class Italian food at the Tabernacle Church based on the Hayes in Town on a weekly basis, and at gatherings like the homeless outreach pictured below.
Our food donation event called
“Plankos at Giovanni’s in the Bay”
On Friday the 1st of November A1 Diagnostics and Giovanni’s Restaurant will be unveiling our new food donation basket. This will be a permanent home for people to come and donate food to Cardiff Foodbank 52 weeks of the year. Giovanni’s Restaurant will make sure all food donated will reach Cardiff Foodbank. This will help them continue their vital work in providing food for the most vulnerable people in Cardiff.
We will be launching the food basket unveiling along with two supersized Welsh dragons. Here is Giovanni who owns Giovanni’s Restaurant pictured with them.
The event starts at 1.30pm. On arrival you will be treated to a free glass of prosecco at Giovanni’s Restaurant, but you need to let us know you’re coming.
Not only that. Giovanni’s Restaurant will be serving their new Italian dish called the Planko. What is a Planko you might ask? Giovanni’s Planko is inspired by Claire from Come Dine with Me. View the YouTube video below to view how this new dish came about.
Giovanni’s Planko is a long pizza board with your choice of Pizza, Cicchetti Antipasto Selection, Italian style fries and a fresh house salad – There is nothing like this in Cardiff.
The Planko is perfect to share with friends & family. Giovanni’s can add drinks packages too. So, if you fancy a bucket of beers or an Ice-Cold bottle of Champagne, Giovanni’s in the Bay has you covered. There will be live music to enjoy on the day from 1.30pm.
We’ll be having lots of fun along the way to help raise awareness for Cardiff Foodbank. We will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record of stacked food cans.
If you would like to come along to these special events, all are welcome. We will be helping raise awareness for Cardiff Foodbank and donating vital food for the new food basket. All will be warmly welcomed.
Order your Planko for this special event on Friday the 1st of November starting at 1.30pm
