It has just been announced by the Welsh Health secretary that Cardiff will have tighter restrictions put in place as of 6pm Sunday evening. Here is a summary of the do’s and dont’s produced by the BBC.
Here are some helpful tips that will enable you to do your part to control the virus.

Because we are an essential business we will be open as normal from Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. We have full social distancing rules in place to protect both our employees and customers. We have had 6 months to get ready for the next lockdown and have learned a great deal in that time refining our lockdown safety measures, so when you come to our garage you will be in safe hands.
A few tips on how to keep your vehicle in tip top condition during tighter Covid19 restrictions
It has been amazing to see the problems vehicles are faced with during a pandemic lockdown. Here is what our customers have experienced with their vehicles during lockdown telling us all about it from our garage workshop pictured below.

- Flat batteries. With vehicles remaining stationary on the road parked up or laid up on the driveway, this has meant batteries have gone flat. A way to keep the battery from going flat is to run the engine in neutral for 10 minutes idle every few days. This will prevent the battery from going flat. If the battery still goes flat then you have a problem with the battery and it could need replacing, but 9 times out of 10 running the engine will help.
- We have seen gearboxes become damaged because the vehicle has remained idle during lockdown. Motorists have come to our garage saying that they found it hard to select gears, however, had no problems previously before the lockdown restrictions came into place during March of this year.
To avoid this problem run the engine and warm the vehicle up, if you can take the vehicle for a safe short run every couple of days or even once a week that will benefit the gearbox as it will not stay idle, it will have the chance to turn it’s gears keeping the gearbox from ceasing up.
We hope that these tips will help keep your vehicle in a healthy state during the new bout of Covid19 restrictions being introduced. You can avoid trips to the garage by giving your car some love and attention warming it up in idle, this will be especially important as the autumn and winter months roll in, if your vehicle stays parked up for long periods of time during cold weather conditions then components will be vulnerable to failure, so keep your car warmed up and run it when it is viable.
