After being open for more than 15 years servicing the most modern-day vehicles from our garage our work is being noticed. Last month we won an award at the SME News Welsh Enterprise Awards 2020 winning the award for “Best Automotive Garage” in Wales.

Since our humble beginnings, our main strategy has been to invest in the best vehicle service technology, this strategy has grown our business 20% every year. It is paramount that independent garages invest in all the latest vehicle service technology to diagnose faults on the most modern-day vehicles.

Car manufacturers like Mercedes, Audi and BMW are purposely designing their vehicles to high and complex standards, this forces motorists to go to main dealers for vehicle service work. If an independent garage does not stay up-to-date with technological advancement in vehicles they will not survive.

Under our garage roof we have a range of technologies that allow us to service vehicles reliably. One example being ADAS technology. In 2016 we opened our state-of-the art vehicle electrical bay and kitted it our with ADAS technology. Modern day vehicles are relying more on more on electrical systems, there are sensors all over the vehicle and if they become mis-aligned then they need to be re-collaborated, and that is where the ADAS technology comes in.

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance System. This technology is implemented into modern day vehicles to understand its surroundings and become aware of potential situations, for example a parking sensor is used to measure how far the vehicle is from a curb or wall, if the vehicle gets very close to the wall then the ADAS system will tell the driver. ADAS systems aid the driver making their experience out on the road a much safer one.

A1 Diagnostics in the last 5 years have invested over £100,000 in vehicle technology, the ADAS diagnostic technology being a part of that investment. We have recently expanded our electrical bay to another 1000sqft space to cope with demand and have employed two full time vehicle electricians to diagnose electrical faults and to re-collaborate ADAS systems.

The good news just keeps coming in. We have also been recently nominated for the “Family Business of the Year” award at the Cardiff Business Awards 2020. This is more evidence that we are a garage to turn to in Cardiff.
