We have serviced hundreds if not thousands of vehicle engines from our garage workshop pictured below.

Is your car or vehicle whatever the manufacturing brand feeling a little hot? Is the vehicle under a lot of strain and pressure? Are the lights on your dashboard going berserk? Well if that is happening then your engine could be overheating.
In most cases when an engine overheats the engine management light will light up on the dash. The sensors in the engine will tell the ECU you have a problem and your next move will be to seek out a garage before the engine goes bang.
Engine’s that go bang can cost a lot to rebuild. The best-case scenario is to supply and fit a low mileage reconditioned engine, this would be far more cost effective. However, as soon as you see signs the engine is overheating, get it serviced, you maybe able to save the engine and that will keep costs down.
If you keep on driving the vehicle when the engine management light is on delaying a trip to the garage, that is when long term damage is done, and that’s when you have to get your wallet out because the engine is to far gone to be repaired and salvaged.
Don’t leave it days on end to visit the garage when the engine management light comes on, it could be something very simple that needs servicing, oil levels might need to be checked, yes your engine is overheating simply because coolant levels are low. Do not fear the worst when the engine management light comes on it could be a simple engine service that you will need to sort the problem out.
Here is a Mercedes vehicle on our garage floor that was experiencing engine overheating problems.

Now this is the point we are making about do not fear when the engine management light comes on, it could be something simple. For the Mercedes vehicle it was something simple, the sensor inside the engine had become faulty and was sending false readings to the ECU, this meant the computer inside the car thought the engine was overheating. All we did was replace the sensor and the engine was working at it’s normal operating temperature.
This Mercedes customer was so relieved as he thought he would need a new engine. However, he had the good news that he did not need a new engine, he just needed a new sensor costing a few hundred pounds rather than a new engine costing a few thousand pounds.
