Firstly, what does DSG stand for? It stands for “Direct Shift Gearbox”. A DSG Gearbox is a dual clutch automatic transmission and has been produced by vehicle manufacturers to offer more fuel efficiency. DSG Gearboxes are not the same as a standard automatic gearbox, they are different using two separate clutches.
